Engineering

AWC Engineering division provides most of its services and products mainly for commercial and industrial engineering requirement.  The solutions offered are tailored to customer’s needs, focusing on achieving convenience, cost savings and energy conservation and savings for buildings.

A brief description of the systems offered by our Engineering Division:

1. Building Automation System (“BAS”)

BAS is a comprehensive computerize system which can be installed in building for the integration and automation of building systems such as security system, lighting, indoor climate control, water flow and other systems. The individual systems are linked together forming a network of points.  Advantages of BAS include:

· Remote control and monitoring this network sections via a single focal point. This allows minimal staff to supervise these system    with the controls

· Prompt a user on any system faults, system parts replacement requirements and buildings system servicing schedules. BAS can be utilized as an overall safety, notification and alarm system

· Allow the user to vary sections settings to an optimal level without any energy wastage, which translates to cost savings

· Designed to be open ended which allows flexibility and able to cover any additional systems that may be incorporated later

Our vast experience and technical know-how provides value added services for BAS in the programming phase which adapts BAS according to the building or user’s requirement.

2. Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning System (HVAC)

The HVAC system is an integral part of the climate control system in office/commercial buildings.  Our focus is primarily on achieving solutions to effective  and efficient operating HVAC systems through proper selection and design of correct control components, modification, up-grading, retro fitting or improvement of existing HVAC systems.  Besides climate control, we also provide lighting and dimming controls which are used to control room lighting and to reduce energy cost.

Our value added services includes efficiency and effectiveness analysis of various HVAC systems of buildings and are oriented to focus on areas where cost savings for the customers can be achieved.

HVAC system is usually the largest consumer of energy in a building.  Our Engineering Division provides energy management services to its customers via Integration of HVAC systems with BAS.  The BAS, being the central monitoring system in a building, will be able to dynamically monitor and regulate, inter alia, the operation time and utilization of HVAC system to suit the changing requirements within the building to prevent energy wastage.

Below are the services provided by us in relation to HVAC:

Air Conditioning Control Systems

The coolness and temperature in a building will vary according to several factors which include the area size, time of day and number of occupants.  We devise methods to control air conditioning system without compromising on the comfort level and cost of operating the HVAC system.

We analyze parts or sections of the HVAC system can be upgraded or improved, and install certain parts to control the variable system. By linking the system to BAS, it will allow the use to make different settings or program the system to run on a modulated shift basis to conserve energy while ensuring that the temperature meets the requirement of the building.

Hydronic Balancing System

The hydronic system is used for regulating water flow in a HVAC system which uses water as part of its cooling system.  Although water pressure varies in different areas in a building, there is a necessity for the supply and pressure to be constant in all critical part of the HVAC system.  We provide the technical skills to balance the water pressure throughout the whole HVAC system to the required usage and building type.

District Cooling System

We also provide HVAC system for buildings other than normal commercial buildings such as facilities, laboratories, greenhouses and other special purpose buildings.  District cooling systems are more complex and larger in size that the HVAC system on normal commercial buildings as it requires a more robust and demanding operating requirement.

The HVAC system can be analyzed and solutions can be provided to adjust the HVAC system for heavier usage.  The operators will then be able to operate the HVAC system more efficiently and at a lower cost.

System Service and Maintenance

We provide regular checks in the systems which we have installed or designed to ensure that the system is functioning normally as part of its responsibility in ensuring that the system meets its requirement.  In addition, we may also provide training for the customer’s staff to operate the BAS independently.  We may also propose system/parts upgrade, repair or replacement when receive reports from customers or as when defects are detected.  We emphasize the importance of good after sales service and maintenance for the services that we provide.
